In religious Realism education is viewed as a method to help us view both the material and spiritual aspects of life (Ozmon & Craver, 2008).
In secular Realism, the emphasis is placed on the “practical” side of education, which may include education in material and scientific studies, as well as moral and character development (Ozmon & Craver, 2008).
